The five-star Welsh hotel with the highest number of excellent reviews

With amazing views, a delicious choice of restaurants and located in a gorgeous part of Wales is it no surprise that a Pembrokeshire hotel has been named the best-reviewed five-star hotel in Wales. The Grove of Narbeth, which is an 18th-century country house, has been recognised as one of the best five-star hotels in the UK.

In research conducted by Bounce, Grove of Narbeth was awarded the fourth best five-star hotel in the UK, the best five-star hotel in Wales and the best value five-star hotel in the UK. Nestled in the heart of Pembrokeshire, this thoughtfully designed Welsh establishment costs an average of £291.45 for a one-night stay.

This is over £60 cheaper than the second-best value five-star hotel in the UK, Batty Langley's in London and Grove of Narbeth also received "very good" and "excellent" feedback in 96.41% of its reviews. You can find Grove of Narbeth in the heart of Pembrokeshire, close to Wisemans Bridge, Haverfordwest and it is perfect to visit all year round, tucked away in a glade, overlooking a newly-placed pond, surrounded by cherry blossom trees and the wilder Welsh countryside making it a magical place to visit on the frostiest morning in mid-winter or sunny evening during summer.

Customers will enter through the cast-iron gates after winding around the narrow Pembrokeshire road and enjoy an amazing stay. Neil Kedward – who is managing director and, along with wife, Zoe, owner of the hotel and its sister venues Coast, The Beach House and, in the past few months, Penmaenuchaf near Dolgellau, said that The Grove has a magical quality.

The Grove has won multiple awards (The Grove of Narbeth)

He said: "And Grove has got that magical quality. It's not a big fancy house perched on top of a hill being self-important. It's in a glade, in a hollow overlooking the Narberth hills – you can see the Preseli hills in the distance. It's in such a humble setting and it isn't a grand country house either. Sometimes you go into a country house and it can be quite grand. Grove is not trying to make a big statement. You walk in and you instantly feel comfortable – it's very homely." The Grove has also picked up many awards during recent years including the 2020 Sunday Times best in Wales, independent UK hotel of the year at the Hotel Cateys in 2021 and gained AA five star red status and was awarded Hotel of the Year at the Visit Pembrokeshire Croeso Awards in 2022.

There are multiple areas you can enjoy your stay at Grove, in the main house, which has 13 rooms, the Longhouse where there are four spacious suites, Poyer's Cottage which has junior and master suites and Herb Cottages. The main house has a classic, superior and deluxe rooms. You can keep up to date with the latest What's On news by signing up to the newsletter here.

A large lounge area creates a gorgeous haven to relax, and the bathroom has an extravagant double-ended bath with a separate monsoon shower.
