The five signings Newcastle United are most tipped to sign this summer

Newcastle United have achieved another positive season in the Premier League, fending off the threat of relegation and showing signs of progress in the transfer market.

The signing of Miguel Almiron in the January transfer window finally saw the club’s fee for a record purchase exceeded and fans will hope that it is the first step towards assembling a stronger side at St. James’ Park.

While the issue of Rafael Benitez’s future remains, the fact that there is now just one month until the transfer window opens will certainly be on the minds of many - and it is highly likely the club have started to identify potential additions.

Speculation will rise further in the coming weeks and Newcastle have already been touted as potential suitors for a number of targets and, using BetVictor, we have identified the five signings that they believe are most likely to arrive on Tyneside this summer.

Newcastle United are hopeful in-form Ayoze Perez will be fit enough to face Liverpool on Saturday

Aaron Mooy - Huddersfield Town (4/1)

The Australia international has been a bright spark in an otherwise disappointing campaign for the Terriers and he is likely to leave this summer following relegation from the Premier League. Due to the drop, his services are likely to be affordable and his creativity in the middle of the park could fit the bill for the Magpies.

Kieran Tierney - Celtic (8/1)

At 21-years-old, Kieran Tierney has established himself as one of the most exciting prospects within British football and the full-back has been linked with a number of clubs. The competition in the market for his services could be an issue for Newcastle but it may prove to be a decent move for all parties, as it would not be as big a leap as moving to a top-six side.

Edin Dzeko - Roma (8/1)

Salomon Rondon has been a tremendous asset to Newcastle this season, scoring nine goals and contributing a further seven assists, but that form has reportedly led to interest from elsewhere. If West Brom welcome a bidding war, former Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko could be an ideal alternative.

Mason Mount - Chelsea (12/1)

Starring on loan with Derby County this season, there is no doubt Mason Mount will be playing in the Premier League next season. The question is for who though, as Derby may not win promotion and Chelsea are hardly renowned for trusting in young talent. Newcastle could step in then, although a loan deal would seem more likely.

Danny Drinkwater - Chelsea (14/1)

Another midfielder out of the picture at Chelsea, Danny Drinkwater is still highly regarded following his sensational displays in Leicester City’s title-winning campaign but his stock has decreased. A move to Newcastle could, therefore, provide a new start for a 29-year-old who still has a lot to offer.
