The five players Unai Emery and Rafa Benitez will be sweating on ahead of Arsenal vs Newcastle

Arsenal were in action this afternoon against Al Nasr, but next week's Premier League clash with Newcastle United is now the focus.

The Gunners built up some much needed momentum ahead of the first international break of the year.

Firstly they beat Manchester United 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium, a result which lifted them into the top four of the Premier League table and have eight games remaining to hold on to that spot.

Then they overcame a 3-1 first-leg against Rennes to reach the Europa League quarter-final as a brace from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ainsley Maitland-Niles' first ever European goal ensured sealed a 4-3 aggregate victory.

The reward for overcoming the Ligue 1 outfit is a tricky tie against Napoli, but those games aren't until next month and Unai Emery's side don't play again until April 1 when they welcome the Magpies to the Emirates.

With that said, we have taken a look at the latest situation in the Gunners' treatment room with the game against United in mind thanks to the good people at physioroom.com.

The list shows six players, three of which - Hector Bellerin, Danny Welbeck and Rob Holding - aren't expected to return until next season and there's been news surrounding the other trio.

Aaron Ramsey was forced to leave the Wales camp with a thigh injury which saw him miss the games against Trinidad and Tobago and Slovakia.

However, the injury is not believed to be too serious and Arsenal are hopeful the midfielder will be available to face Newcastle.

Meanwhile Sokratis and Sead Kolasinac are also nursing injuries, with the Greek centre-back missing his nation's game with Liechtenstein and the left-back sitting out Bonsia's 2-1 win against Armenia.

Both have remained with their national teams, however, and are expected to feature when their two nations meet tonight before they return to London.

Nacho Monreal missed the trip to Dubai, although the club have confirmed it was due to a precaution over a calf problem and there's hope he will be fine to face the Magpies.

That's the quartet of Gunners stars whom Emery has fitness concerns over, but his opposite number and compatriot Rafa Benitez doesn't have too many injury worries ahead of the trip to London.

Captain Jamaal Lascelles missed the 2-2 draw with Bournemouth last time out with a knee problem as he wasn't risked at the Vitality Stadium despite returning to training that week, so he could feature against the Gunners.
