SHE’S ACTUALLY COMING: Taylor Swift Has Finally Announced Australian Eras Tour Dates

It’s happening, it’s really happening! Our lord and saviour Taylor Swift has finally announced that she will be bringing her Eras Tour to Australia in 2024.

Across her social media accounts, Taylor announced a whole heap of shows worldwide. But obviously, it’s the five Eras Tour shows she’ll be putting on in Australia that we’re interested in.

The only downside?

The sequinned superstar is only bringing her 3-hour mega show to Sydney and Melbourne. It’s a huge blow for our interstate hotties. On the bright side, she’s giving ya time to rally your pals, book some flights and organise a place to stay.

Ahead, we’ve compiled everything (and we mean everything) you need to know about Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Australia.

When is Taylor Swift coming to Australia?

Taylor Swift will be performing two Eras Tour gigs in Melbourne and three gigs in Sydney in February 2024.

Taylor Swift Eras Tour Dates:

  • Friday 16 – Melbourne, MCG
  • Saturday 17 – Melbourne, MCG
  • Friday 23 – Sydney, Accor Stadium
  • Saturday 24 – Sydney, Accor Stadium
  • Sunday 25 – Sydney, Accor Stadium

When do Taylor Swift Eras Tour Australian tickets go on sale?

If you want to be one of the first to get your grimy hands on Eras Tour tix in Australia, sign up for the American Express VIP package Pre-Sale which starts on June 26.

Unforutanetely, the AMEX pre-sale will only sell two VIP packages — not general admission tickets.

There are two VIP experiences available; “Karma Is My Boyfriend” and “It’s Been A Longtime Coming”, whatever that means.

After that, regular pre-sale and VIP tickets will be available via Frontier Touring from Wednesday, June 28. This will be where you can grab regular seated tickets ahead of Friday’s general ticket sale.

Finally, general tickets will go on sale Friday, June 30. For Sydney, the site will go live at 10am local time and for Melbourne, the tickets will be on sale from 2pm.

What a time to be alive, my friends! Good luck to all!

What are the Taylor Swift ticket prices for Australia’s Eras Tour?

I hope you’re ready to drain your bank account and sell your firstborn because these bad boys are NOT cheap.

If you’re ready to go all out with A Reserve tickets, you’ll pay $379.90 a pop. But if you’re happy to just vibe along and don’t care where you sit, you could cop G Reserve tickets for $79.90.

Here’s how much tickets cost for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Australia:

While you’re at it, can you make sure you get one for us?

There are tracks off of her fourth studio album Red, including “I Knew You Were Trouble” and the 10-minute (yes, 10-minute) version of “All Too Well”, so excuse me while I curl up into a ball and sob for the remainder of the day.

“Cruel Summer” also makes an appearance. I’ve never wanted to see someone dancing around on stage in a bedazzled leotard more in my life.

“Lavender Haze”, “Mirrorball” and “Style” are all confirmed for Eras and seriously, Taylor Swift knows what we want and she gives it to us.

Even “You Belong With Me” got some air time. 12-year-old me is screaming.

Tracks from every single album appear to be making the cut. Why doesn’t every artist structure their live performances like this?

And while many Aussies have been miffed over not having tour dates until 2024, there is a slight silver lining in that we might be able to see more songs from Speak Now (the best album, IMHO) on the setlist thanks to its re-release in July.

Why has there been so much drama over the location of Taylor Swift’s Australian Eras Tour shows?

Ooooh boy, there’s been a lot of whispers about the location of Taylor Swift’s Australian Eras Tour for months now.

It all kicked off from a Tweet posted in March when the oracular gossip site Deuxmoi hinted that Taylor Swift had already booked the country’s biggest stadium, the MCG, for her tour.

“Dates have been booked for Taylor at the MCG in Melbourne, Aus. So she’s definitely coming to Australia!” the Tweet read.

Shortly after this, an anonymous individual claiming to work for the MCG sent the Shameless podcast a DM claiming TayTay is defs on her way.

“Hush Hush but I work for the MCG and dates have been booked in for Taylor,” they wrote.

I don’t know who to believe.

Per the anon tea spiller, the “You Need To Calm Down” singer will be playing not one but TWO shows at the MCG.

Thankfully, they were right! Yahoo!

Is there any footage of the Taylor Swift Eras Tour?

For the last few months, Australians have been forced to watch footage from the Eras Tour unfold on TikTok, including vids featuring the likes of Hayley WilliamsGigi Hadid, and Emma Stone straight-vibing. TBH, it’s had Aussie Swifties begging for a Taylor Swift Australia tour.

The Eras Tour kicked off on March 17 in the US, and based on the footage, it’s everything we wanted and more.

A ‘yuge thank you to all the overseas Swifties for the glorious footage from the Taylor Swift Eras Tour!

This tour is cracking up to be everything I could ever want in a T Swift tour, the song choices, the wardrobe changes, the set. Phenomenal, truly.

Now that we know she’s coming Down Under, I‘m manifesting that I’ll be able to nab some tix before they sell out.
