The firm that will help Liverpool's unemployed develop skills and get back into work

This firm will help Liverpool's unemployed get back into work after winning a bid with the city region's combined authority.

Education and training specialists Seetec will over the next year deliver its programme to those over 19 as part of the authority's adult education budget.

The business, which has offices all over the country, will focus on employment training across sectors such as travel and tourism, retail, hospitality, construction and transport.

According to Seetec, the programme will give learners the opportunity to take part in work-based training and gain experience with local employers through work placements, employability training and on-the-job experience.

Seetec will deliver its adult education activity in Liverpool city centre and in community hubs across the region, with the winning bid coming after a "competitive tender".

Andi MacGregor, Head of Adult Education and Traineeships at Seetec said: “The adult education programme will play a vital role in achieving the industrial strategy of Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and the Metro Mayor for Liverpool City Region.

"As a leading provider of education and training, with a strong history of developing skills and benefiting communities, we’re delighted to have been appointed to deliver the AEB programme.

“We’ll be working closely with employers, referral partners and the third sector to create opportunities that help move unemployed residents into sustainable employment.”
