The final Premier League table predicted and it's bad news for Tottenham and Man United fans

It's been quite start to the new Premier League season.

A number of unpredictable results has led to a particularly exciting start of the season with upsets aplenty taking place in the opening weeks.

But with eight games already played it seems that things are starting to take shape.

Arsenal and Chelsea have made excellent starts to the season and sit in third and fifth place respectively, and supporters will be pleased to know that they're firmly on track to have an excellent season,

According to the latest predicted table by FiveThirtyEight , which uses a soccer power index (SPI) rating system in order predict the final league table, both sides are predicted to finish in the top four at the end of the season.

This is based on an SPI rating which is made by calculating the amount of goals likely to be both scored and conceded over the course of the season.

Chelsea and Arsenal will finish third and fourth, with a predicted points tally of 69 and 63 respectively - behind Liverpool and Manchester City who will finish first and second.

Wenger: Pochettino needs to show he can give more to Tottenham

While it's good news for those two sides, for Tottenham it may be a season to forget.

FiveThirtyEight predict that Spurs will finish in fifth place after a disappointing start to the season, while Manchester United will miss out on the top six altogether.
