The final Championship table predicted as Swansea City, Bournemouth and Norwich City challenge top six but Stoke City, Cardiff City and Middlesbrough miss out

Swansea City are among the favourites to gain promotion from the Championship this season.

Steve Cooper's men are in fourth place ahead of their clash with Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium on Wednesday night having claimed seven of the nine points on offer since the international break.

Online bookmakers The Pools have the Swans as the 10/3 fifth favourites to go up this season.

Bournemouth are the firm favourites to secure a return to the Premier League, with bookmakers offering 3/4 for Jason Tindall's side to be playing in the top flight next term.

The Cherries are closely followed by Norwich City who are 5/6 to go up while Watford (11/8) and Brentford (6/4) are the only other sides with odds shorter than those of the Swans.

Cardiff City recently got themselves back on track with a thumping 4-0 win over Luton Town to ease the pressure on Neil Harris.

But the Bluebirds are in 12th spot when it comes to the list of favourites to be promoted, with The Pools offering odds of 10/1 for Cardiff to be promoted.

Blackburn Rovers (5/1) are the side tipped to complete the top six while Stoke City (6/1), Bristol City (7/1), Middlesbrough (15/2), Reading (8/1) and Millwall (9/1) are all currently fancied more than the Bluebirds to go up.

At the other end of the table, Wycombe Wanderers are still the 1/7 favourites to go down.

They are expected to be joined by Derby County and Rotherham United who are at evens and 5/4 respectively to be playing in League One next season.
