The Festive Group 'overwhelmed' by record number of early enquiries for Christmas installations

A Liverpool seasonal events specialist says it has been "overwhelmed" by a record number of early enquiries for Christmas installations

The Festive Group said its domestic and corporate customers are planning earlier, eager to get their decor plans in place, also receiving many enquiries from first-time customers.

The Aintree-based firm is well known for its large-scale commercial and domestic Christmas installations, and said it has recorded a "significant increase in client consultations".

It said commercial clients are planning early for the festive seasons to boost retail sales and recoup some of the lost revenue caused by Covid-19 restrictions.

Head of operations, Paul Lally said: "We would normally see a surge in enquiries and bookings when people return from their holidays in September, but this year many of our customers are staying at home and making earlier plans for an extra special Christmas following a very tough 2020.

"Family time has been reduced for large chunks of the year with lockdown restrictions and the necessity for shielding and our customers are telling us that they want Christmas 2020 to be ‘magical’ this year."

The company has decorated the homes of various celebrity clients over the years, including Sharon Osborne, Dawn Ward, Gemma Collins, Caroline Stanbury, Trent Alexander Arnold, Andy Robertson, Danny Ings and Mo Salah.

Mr Lally added: “Many of our long standing customers are definitely pulling out all of the stops this years and are planning bigger and more elaborate festive installations to see out 2020 and welcome 2021.

"External installations are more popular and large scale festive lighting is on a lot of domestic and commercial wish lists. Many of our clients are ditching the festive getaways and opting for a traditional family Christmas at home.

"Whilst 2020 will always be remembered for Covid-19 I genuinely think it will also be remembered as the year we saw the return of the magical and memorable family festive Christmas."
