The fate of Emmerdale pub The Woolpack teased ahead of major fire storyline

Emmerdale viewers have been given a grim preview of what awaits the ITV soap's iconic pub this Christmas.

As Emmerdale fans know, Al Chapman, played by Michael Wildman, has recently invested in The Woolpack - joining cousins Marlon and Charity Dingle overseeing it.

The investment from a new source was needed after the venue suffered financial difficulties during the coronavirus pandemic.

There's been a lot of cutbacks at the village boozer - which have not gone well. Spoilers have revealed there's going to be a major fire at the Woolie which will leave it facing a very uncertain future.

Little is known about how the fire starts and whether anyone will be injured in the blaze.

Given the pub's financial struggle some viewers believe they may have been given a little hint about the upcoming major storyline - and how the fire starts.

In last night's episode of Emmerdale, Chas, played by Lucy Pargeter, commenting on the pub's financial struggles, said: "We may as well set fire to the place."

On Twitter, some fans felt the landlady might have given Al some ideas.

A post from @emmerdalefan153 read: "Don't say that Chas! Al will take it literally."

While, @Samedwards added: "Oh no, I hope the pub isn't deliberately set on fire."

Another viewer @tomharrison67 said: "I can't cope we these Woolpack fire hints!"

We'll keep you posted on what the future holds for the Woolpack.
