Celia Birtwell sunglasses, £30
Fresh from her duties for Topshop, print designer Birtwell has turned her hand to a range of specs for Boots. In a sea of black Jackie O homages and dark bug-eyed frames, these white (so Wimbledon) sunglasses will give you an edge this weekend.

Tortoiseshell frames, £15
By now we all know that the Clubmaster has trumped the Wayfarer as this year's super-shade. But for those who prefer something classic, these round tortoiseshell frames are perfect. A good shape, dark tint and a bargain, too.

The menswear shows in Milan and Paris have been throwing up wardrobe ideas for spring 2010 over the last couple of weeks. Jackets with their sleeves shorn off appeared at two of the most influential labels, Prada and Lanvin (pictured). Styled with a T-shirt sleeve, the look becomes borderline-possible. It's not likely to go mainstream any time soon though. Photograph: Antonio de Moraes Barros Filho/WireImage.com
Jeggings and wet-look leggings retreat. This motorcycle-inspired denim number (also available in black) by Craft is revving up as a key trend for autumn. Think of it as a cheaper and easier to wear alternative to leather trousers, next season's scariest catwalk diktat.

"Stole" is the comeback fashion term of the week - just say it out loud, it rolls wonderfully around your mouth. This cashmere/silk number also ticks our weakness for animal print. The first Vuitton/Sprouse printed scarf launched in 2001, and they have consistently sold out. It also comes in blush pink with grey. Just don't call it a pashmina.

Keira Knightley and the like invariably stroll around a period drama whingeing about unrequited love, beneath the shaded comfort of a parasol - but does this brolly look translate off screen? Heck, this week anything that keeps us cool does. Umbrella specialist James Smith & Son offers a parasol range, including ones with frothy frills. Smashing.
