The Fartgate Feud On Big Brother Has Sparked An Online Debate About Fart Etiquette

Big Brother fart

Big Brother Australia’s return to telly has already featured some heavy topics from a heartfelt discussion about “pretty privilege” to racism being caught on the livestream. Alongside these serious societal topics, however, is another prevalent convo: fart etiquette.

After copping a whiff of one too many farts from the lads, Trump-loving nan Jane decided to say something (and no, it wasn’t “quiet, piggy” — but it wasn’t far off!).

In last night’s episode, Jane confronted fellow housemates Colin, Vincent and Bruce about the constant tooting.

“I don’t wanna hear people farting in my face,” she said, adding: “I just have a thing with disrespecting women.”

The blokes were quick to fire back at her assertion that they’re disrespectful of women, with Vincent saying: “It’s fair if you’ve expressed you don’t want farts, but you’re insinuating that we don’t have respect towards women. First of all, he does, I do and Colin does.”

Colin added: “Colin chimed in, adding: ‘”Yeah fair enough. But don’t go around saying we disrespect women.”

Jane didn’t back down, telling the boys: “The way you have behaved toward me as a woman… I find, I find disrespectful”, to which Colin replied: “But you don’t speak for all women”.

The fiery farty convo has sparked a debate online about flatulence etiquette and whether or not Jane has a point or if her argument stinks.

Elsewhere, a production insider and a bunch of eagle-eyed fans are claiming Big Brother Australia doesn’t actually air live.

“So far, there’s barely been a blip of live television,” the insider told PEDESTRIAN.TV. “It’s rehearsed, pre-cut and edited to feel live, but it’s not.”

Noticing the hooplah, Ten released a statement clarifying whether or not the show is actually live.

Meanwhile, apparently the livestream is causing “a minute-to-minute panic” as moderators are struggling to keep up with contestants’ off-the-cuff remarks.

“They’re terrified the whole network could get gazumped by this,” another insider told P.TV.

“This is exactly why the livestream disappeared for years,” another source explained. “You cannot control ‘casual racism’ on a reality show. You just can’t. And the audience is recording everything. The editing delay is not protecting anyone.”
