Bosses at ITV must be so proud of Emmerdale and Coronation Street.
Both long-running soap operas are watched by millions of people each week. Although, despite how successful they both are it doesn’t stop some heavy rivalry between the two programmes.
Nothing probably encapsulates that more than this photo of Corrie’s Jack P Shepherd which was taken at ITV’s summer party back in 2015.

The actor, who plays David Platt in the Manchester-based soap, rather cheekily pretended to urinate on an Emmerdale sign he spotted at the bash.
The image was posted on social media at the time. It certainly divided opinion between fans of the two shows but we feel it was all rather playful.
Each Christmas, the intense rivalry between Yorkshire’s Emmerdale and Lancashire’s Coronation Street comes to a head in ITV festive treat The Big Quiz.
Since 2011, stars from the two programmes have been facing-off. Jack P Shepherd has appeared in the Corrie team several times.
Although, we might add Emmerdale currently hold the trophy after succeeding in December’s battle.
