Dumfriesshire’s latest visitor attraction, the Famous Blacksmiths Gretna Green Experience, is in the finals of the British Guild of Travel Writers International Tourism Awards.
Hailed as the UK’s first attraction dedicated to love and marriage, it was launched in April by Gretna Green Ltd and is in the award’s Best UK and Ireland Tourism Project category.
Isabel Rhodes, chief executive at Gretna Green Ltd, said: “It’s a huge honour to have made the final stage of these prestigious awards and to stand beside some fantastic tourism organisations from across the UK and Ireland who have been nominated this year.
“Having launched the attraction earlier this year, to reach the final is an accolade and true testament to the hard work of our teams in delivering a first-class tourism experience.
