The Falcons revealed 1966 throwback uniforms with red helmets, and NFL fans loved it

Subjectively, the Falcons have one of the NFL’s best color schemes. Black and red. It’s like peanut butter and jelly or salt and pepper: You can’t beat it.

Unfortunately, the Falcons haven’t always taken advantage of their unique palette on an aesthetic level. I’m not saying it’s the reason they’ve never won a Super Bowl, but I’m not not saying it isn’t.

On Wednesday, Atlanta revealed a throwback look that finally takes advantage of such aesthetic delights. Come this fall, in a home mid-October matchup against the 49ers; they’ll play in their 1966 uniforms.

And with their classic blazing red helmets. Yeah, they look as cool as they sound.

A big shoutout to model A.J. Terrell for making that trademark black and red look so good. To be fair, it would be hard to mess up such a look.

While not surprised by the reveal, NFL fans were delighted to see the Falcons return to their uniform roots.
