The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will tie into at least three future MCU movies, it has been revealed.

The Marvel spin-off, released on Disney Plus this Friday, will see Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan reprise the characters of Sam Wilson (AKA Falcon) and Bucky Barnes (AKA The Winter Soldier) from the MCU films.

Emily VanCamp, who played Sharon Carter in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War will also return, along with Civil War’s villainous Helmut Zemo (Daniel Brühl).

But it seems like the crossovers won’t stop there.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’s creator, Malcolm Spellman, teased in a new interview that the series would tie into “at least three” future MCU properties.

“I can think of three that I’m not allowed to talk about,” he said, speaking to Entertainment Weekly.

Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige confirmed in the same report that several films and TV series in the MCU’s current “Phase Four” slate are “relatively standalone or connect back to Avengers: Endgame”.

However, he also confirmed that others are being developed with a view to producing multiple seasons.

Asked whether The Falcon and the Winter Soldier would extend beyond its planned six episodes, Feige said that the answer would enter “the spoiler realm”.

“We have a future charted for characters post-Falcon and the Winter Soldier, but I don’t want to say much more than that,” he added.
