The eye-watering figure West Ham paid to agents as Premier League figures released

Premier League clubs paid more than £260million in total to agents and other intermediaries over the past year, with Liverpool spending more than any other club in their pusruit of the league title.

The "Big Four" teams in the division find themselves in the top four of the list with Man City not far behind Liverpool, Manchester United sit third on the list then Chelsea in fourth.

There is a big gap to Everton, Leicester City and Arsenal but not far behind them are....West Ham.

The FA has published its annual statement detailing the payments and transactions involving registered Intermediates across the Premier League, EFL and National League.

The payments involved range from February 1, 2019 to January 31, 2020, and takes into account every single transaction(s) in which each registered Intermediary was involved during the 12-month period.

FIFA regulations introduced in 2015 on working with intermediaries require the details to be published each year, and may take into account transactions that were entered into prior to February 1.

The Hammers have spent big since the summer of 2018, breaking the club record transfer fee three times on Issa Diop, Felipe Anderson and finally Sebastien Haller, no doubt the latter two will have contributed to a big agent fee.

West Ham also spent big on the likes of Haller (£45million), Pablo Fornals (£25million) and Jarrod Bowen (£25million) in recent times and that has seen them outlay a whopping £13,167,647 on agent fees, which is more than Spurs and Wolves.
