The Eye of Minds by James Dashner

Michael loves gaming and is amazing at hacking; for someone like him the VirtNet is great fun but something evil is brewing. Gamers are committing suicide in the game but removing their core which separates real life and the game, this means they die both in the game and real life. The VirtNet security need Michael to track down the gamer but will Michael and his friends survive and make it out alive?
I loved The Eye of Minds because the pages almost turned themselves and kept me hooked. I finished the book within two days it was so unputdownable!
I recommend this to people aged 13+ because some parts are quite dark but it is an amazing read and I can't wait to read the sequel- the rule of thoughts!

The Zigzag Effect by Lili Wilkinson

Moving house is hard for everyone in a family but for Sage, the only good thing is being able to take a photography course with her idol, Yoshi Lear. However there isn't enough money for Sage to do the course so she decides to get a job working for the great Armand working on the accounts and ticket bookings.
Things are going well until Armand goes missing; with tension brimming between herb, stagehand and aspiring magician, Bianca, the magician's assistant, and Sage, the show falls apart but can they get it back together and find the great Armand before it's too late?
I Loved The Zig-Zag Effect, the characters were built really well and it kept me constantly gripped. The storyline worked really well and there were lots of plot twists that made the book really fun!
I recommend this to anyone who is interested in magic or ghosts because both are an important part in the book and are incorporated really well!
