The extraordinary transfer fee Chelsea will have to pay to sign Kepa Arrizabalaga replacement

Frank Lampard is likely to be in the market for a new goalkeeper in the summer transfer window.

Chelsea made Kepa Arrizabalaga their club-record signing in 2018, shelling out £71million on the Spanish keeper.

But the 25-year-old has not had the easiest of spells in England so far, losing his place earlier this season to veteran Argentine Willy Caballero following a number of mistakes.

There were rumours that Lampard was keen to cash in in January, but that did not happen, with Arrizabalaga staying put.

However, Lampard is expected to assess his options this summer, particularly as Caballero will turn 39 in September.

Frank Lampard: Chelsea not favourites in top four race

One player that has been tipped to move to the Premier League is Atletico Madrid shot-stopper Jan Oblak.

The Slovenian number one has been Atletico's number one for five seasons, having signed from Benfica in 2014.

He has been previously linked with a move to Liverpool, whom he helped knock out of the Champions League this week with a string of fine saves as Atletico won 3-2 at Anfield to secure a 4-2 win on aggregate in the last 16 of the competition.

But if Chelsea want to sign Oblak, Roman Abramovich is going to have to get the chequebook out - or perhaps just wire a very large sum of money to the Spanish capital.

The 27-year-old keeper signed a new four-year contract last summer, tying him to the Wanda Metropolitano until 2023 and there was a substantial release clause written into the deal.

That release clause stands at €120million, meaning Chelsea could be asked to pay £109million to take him away from Spain this summer.
