The exotic holiday destinations you can fly to from Manchester Airport for less than £100

Budget-friendly travel doesn't necessarily mean you can't venture far. Holidaymakers tend to opt for European destinations for a cheap getaway - but if you fancy exploring somewhere further afield, you don't always have to spend thousands of pounds on flights.

One Brit enjoyed a getaway to Dubai, and his outward travel - including two flights and a bus trip - cost him less than a tank of petrol. Callum Ryan, 22, flew from Luton to Bulgaria and then to Abu Dhabi before getting a bus to Dubai for just £64.66. The average cost of filling up a 55-litre Ford Focus with petrol sits at £79.13.

Cheaper flights aren't without their compromises, though. Multiple stops, long layovers and limited luggage allowance tend to keep prices low, but for many it is worth the money they'll be saving.
