The ex-Arsenal forward named in Maurizio Sarri's Juventus squad to face Tottenham in pre-season

Juventus have named their squad for the Summer Tour 2019 and there's a heavy Arsenal connection.

Which is handy as the reigning Serie A champions are in action against Tottenham Hotspur at the The National Stadium in Singapore on Sunday afternoon (UK time).

Therefore, this meeting should have an extra little spice for two ex-Gunners.

But there's no space in Maurizio Sarri's squad for Aaron Ramsey who officially became a Juventus player on July 1 after his contract at the Emirates Stadium expired at the end of last month.

The Welshman remains sidelined with the hamstring injury he picked up in Arsenal's Europa League quarter-final second leg win over Napoli three months ago.

Although, Ramsey hopes to be back in action soon.

"I have an injury, but it’s going well, it’s progressing nicely at the moment," he told reporters earlier in the week, as per Football Italia .

"I’m doing a lot of work to try and get back as quickly as possible.

"I’m not quite there yet to go into full training, but I’m not too far away. I want to start training with the guys as soon as possible.

"I’ve had a small injury, but we’re taking it day by day, I’m feeling stronger and getting more fitness. We’ll make a decision over the next few days, but nothing has been set in stone yet over whether I travel with the squad for the pre-season tour.

"The way things are going, I’m confident I’ll be back fairly soon.

With that said, ex-Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has been named in the squad to face Spurs and it's well documented at how much he likes getting one over them.

Also in the squad is a name that some fans might not be too familiar with and that's former youth striker Stephy Mavididi.

The 21-year-old left north London last season and featured heavily for Juve's U23's side last term.

This call-up could hint at a future promotion to the senior squad, while Arsenal fans will love if Mavididi is able to disrupt Spurs' pre-season preparations with a goal or two.

Sarri has also named former Chelsea loanee Gonzalo Higuain and ex-Liverpool midfielder Emre Can in his squad and there's also room for recent signing Matthijs de Ligt.
