The Everton injury news which is set to boost Arsenal in the race for a top four finish

Yerry Mina is set to miss Everton's clash against Arsenal this weekend, but comments from his agent suggests he could still have a say in the top four race.

The Colombian suffered a hamstring injury on international duty last month and therefore missed last Saturday's 2-0 win over West Ham United at the London Stadium.

Amid fears that Mina would miss the remainder of the season, manager Marco Silva admitted the injury was a serious one.

"He has had a scan and it is not good news," Silva said . "It's serious for us as a club but really bad for him also. Now is the time for us to support him and give everything to get him a good condition again.

"It hasn't been an easy season for him. Since he joined the club he has had some unlucky moments. He joined with a bad injury but we knew before he went to the national team it could be a risk for him to play the two matches.

"He is not out for the rest of the season but let's see how many weeks it will be.

"It is not the right time to say how long he will be out but we expect to see him with us training and playing again."

Now it's being reported that Mina will be sidelined for at least another month but his uncle/agent, Jair Mina, has insisted the defender will return to action before the season is concluded.

"Yerry will be at the Copa America, be sure," he told  Marca Claro .

With the Toffees still to face the Gunners, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur they are set to have a huge say on which club qualifies for the Champions League.

Mina is likely to miss the clash with the Red Devils on April 21, but judging by his agent's comments he should be fit to face Spurs on the final day of the season (May 12).
