'The Everton fans are doing a great job of bringing the atmosphere back to Goodison'

The match against Fulham was disappointing and unexpected, but what do you think Marco Silva will have learned from that game?

It’s easy to pin the blame on Silva. I imagine he would’ve been incredibly frustrated watching poor individual performances from most players on the pitch.

However, I think the biggest learning point for Silva is to react to the game accordingly.

When something clearly isn’t working, it’s important to make quick changes that will sway the momentum of the game.

Unfortunately, the substitutions against Fulham didn’t directly address the areas that needed improving on the pitch.

Andre Gomes will certainly be a big miss, but who would you want to see replace him in the side this weekend?

Against a team with a strong attacking threat like Manchester United, I believe Schneiderlin’s experience and defensive tendencies will allow us to flourish in other areas of the pitch by providing a degree of stability at the back, in turn allowing the full backs to push up and link up with the wingers.

That being said, I would like Davies to make an appearance at some point during the game.

The ECHO writers have their say on picking Gomes' replacement

Does Everton's lack of a natural replacement for Gomes prove to you how important his permanent signature is this summer?

Gomes is an incredible player, and I feel like he’s clicked with the club off the pitch, too.

Although he went through a rough patch around Christmas as he adapted to the pace of the Premier League, he’s recently proved how important he is for Everton.

Everton boss Marco Silva admits he "cannot control" Idrissa Gueye's future as summer market looms

He offers a degree of composure and class in the midfield.

Nobody is irreplaceable, but I think Gomes’ signature would be a great piece of business for Everton’s philosophy and future.

Everton's recent home form is strong and the improved atmosphere has played a major role in that - how important will the fans be again this weekend?

The fans are doing a great job of bringing the atmosphere back to Goodison.

On its day, the fans are the twelfth player on the pitch because they’re able to influence momentum.

A lot of players that have experienced the receiving end of this have openly admitted that its one of the hardest stadiums to play at in the Premier League.

Our players are able to absorb the energy of the fans and translate that into quality football, and hopefully goals.

If we can make this the case for every game, surely it will influence the final result.

Romelu Lukaku is set to return to Goodison Park for the first time since leaving the Blues, what sort of reception should he expect?

It’s hard to predict.

To be honest, I can’t imagine it’ll be all that bad for him. Although he left on somewhat sour terms, you’d like to think that the dust has settled and we’ve both moved on... *boos*
