The Euston Manifesto was written a year ago by a group of journalists, academics and philosophers. Broadly speaking, it wishes to build a new internationalist left by finding common cause with all those who fight against "tyranny and irrationalism". Or as the document puts it: "we must define ourselves against those for whom the entire progressive-democratic agenda has been subordinated to a blanket and simplistic 'anti-imperialism' and/or hostility to the current US administration." For many, the manifesto and those behind it are no more than American lackeys. For many others, myself included, they represent a return to core leftist values. You can read the whole manifesto here.
