The England World Cup 2026 away kit is out - and this is the one we've wanted for YEARS

England World Cup 2026 away kit .

The England World Cup 2026 away kit has dropped oh, wow…

It's that time of year, with kits getting released ahead of World Cup 2026 (holidays are coming, holidays are coming) and thank goodness: Nike are not messing about with England.

Our hopes and prayers and letters to Nike HQ have been answered and then some with something absolutely mustard: yes, yes, oh yay.

The England World Cup 2026 away kit has dropped – and it's ticked every box possible

Here at FFT HQ, we understand the demands of modern football more than most: kits have to be different every time you release new ones, otherwise… well, what's the point?

We personally loved the purple of Euro 2024, the sky-blue of World Cup 2022 was a nice update and yeah, we even have a soft spot for Euro 2020's royal blue… though admittedly, the Three Lions didn't actually wear any of these at major tournaments.

But for those traditionalists among us whose fondest memories of FIFA is about slide tackling goalkeepers and who can recite World In Motion with no help whatsoever, England play in red and white, maybe with a bit of navy.

Thank you for correcting that for us, Nike.

This new shirt is everything we've wanted for oh, so long: a stunning base graphic reflecting the home kit that incorporates the Three Lions themselves, while the central badge and Swoosh give us memories of France ‘98 and Becks swirling that free-kick against Colombia.

OK, so the collar is a bit blocky and odd – but we can overlook that with everything else going on here: the navy is a nice edition, the star is gold and the shade of red recalls sunny Wembley afternoons.

And now for the not-so-good: navy shorts? Uh, no ta, @Nike – shorts must be white. We're not bloody Norway, are we?

While international teams vary up their shirt/shorts combos far more regularly than clubs do – look at France and Spain doing it for fun – we don't mind the home shirt sometimes coming with white shorts… but it just doesn't feel right here, with quite so much navy as it is.

But what do you think? Snazzy or too jazzy? Sleek or bleak? Tell us below the line.
