'The energy!' - Chelsea fans spot what Thomas Tuchel and Jorginho did during Aston Villa clash

Chelsea will face Southampton in the Carabao Cup fourth round after beating Aston Villa on penalties on Wednesday evening.

The Blues were held to a 1-1 draw in 90 minutes against Villa, with Timo Werner opening the scoring at Stamford Bridge, but were pegged back after Cameron Archer's equaliser.

The hosts were not to be denied, though, and progressed into the next round after a penalty shootout win, where Kepa Arrizabalaga was the hero once again from 12 yards.

Thomas Tuchel will be delighted that his team secured a place into the next stage of the competition, especially after naming a much-changed side on the night.

There was one point in the night, though, that Tuchel was not so delighted.

After Reece James challenged Emiliano Buendia, the referee gave a foul, much to Tuchel and Jorginho's disgust on the sidelines - something Chelsea supporters spotted and absolutely loved.

The Blues will now face Southampton in the next round for another all-Premier League tie in the competition.

Tuchel, when speaking after his side overcame Villa in west London, spoke about his ambition to add another trophy to his growing list of accolades at Chelsea.

He said: "This is why we are here (to win trophies). We are here to win and the club is built to win and this is the DNA of the club.

"We want to be competitive and this is what we are up for as coaches and as a team.

"So any competition we start, we go for the very best and this is a final at Wembley that we want to reach."

Chelsea's attention will now be solely on beating Manchester City on Saturday afternoon, with Pep Guardiola's side making the trip to the capital.

The Blues will be well aware of City's quality, and the likelihood of last season's champions to be challenging them for the Premier League title throughout the campaign.
