The encouraging signs between Hakim Ziyech and Frank Lampard already ahead of Chelsea move

Hakim Ziyech’s agent has claimed the player and Chelsea boss Frank Lampard ‘clicked’ during their first conversation.

The 27-year-old is set to become a Blues player on July 1 after completing a £33.6million move from Ajax in February.

The Moroccan is not able to complete his final Eredivisie season after it was announced that the Dutch campaign was set to come to an end amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The Blues could lose both Willian and Pedro in the summer with their contracts running out at the end of the 2019/20 campaign.

And Ziyech’s agent, Mustapha Nakhli, believes it was easy for his client to make a connection with his soon-to-be boss.

Nakhli told Dutch publication Voetbal International: "When interest became concrete, we first spoke to Marina Granovskaia, Chelsea's director.

"Chelsea also sees a leader in Hakim, they praised his personality. The first conversation between Frank Lampard and Hakim took place over the phone at my office.

"They clicked. Hakim is a feeling person so if it feels right, it is also good.

"We never chose the money. That will come. Hakim wants to be the best, that is his aim. He was in the Netherlands and now succeeding at Chelsea in England is the next goal."
