The eight Rangers and Celtic starlets included in the latest Scotland Under 21 squad

Eight of Rangers and Celtic's most talented young players have been included in the latest Scotland Under 21 squad.

Scot Gemmill this morning (Tuesday) announced the 21-man list for the upcoming qualifiers against Croatia and Greece.

The Ibrox club have six players involved in the squad, while two Celtic players have been called up.

Goalkeeper Ross Doohan and defender Stephen Welsh will represent the Parkhead club. Doohan is currently on-loan at Ayr United and 20-year-old Welsh was named in Neil Lennon's Celtic team to face Hamilton last month.

From Rangers, goalkeepers Robby McCrorie and Kieran Wright will be joined by Ross McCrorie and defender Lewis Mayo in the 21-man list. Robby is currently playing in the Scottish Premiership for Livingston while Ross is at Portsmouth, and Mayo is turning out for Patrick Thistle. Wright has been playing for Alloa Athletic this season.

Glenn Middleton (on loan at Bradford) and Stephen Kelly (on loan at Ayr United) will also represent the Ibrox club.

The Croatia match will take place at Tynecastle on Friday, 27 March, kick off at 7pm. The squad will then fly out to Crete for the Greece match on Tuesday, 31 March.

The full squad is as follows: Ross Doohan, Robby McCrorie, Kieran Wright, Daniel Harvie, George Johnston, Barry Maguire, Lewis Mayo, Ross McCrorie, Patrick Reading, Stephen Welsh, Lewis Ferguson, Billy Gilmour, Andy Irving, Stephen Kelly, Lewis Moore, Lewis Smith, Louis Appere, Jamie Gullan, Fraser Hornby, Connor McLennan, Glenn Middleton.
