The eight players Manchester United fans think should be sold in the summer

Manchester United fans have highlighted the EIGHT players they believe the club should sell in the summer.

Following an abysmal 4-0 defeat to Everton, it is widely believed among United supporters that the clubs needs a major clear-out in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Ander Herrera looks set to join Paris Saint Germain, but he is not among the eight players United fans have named when asked who should depart.

The MEN asked United fans which players they'd like to stay at the club, offering the chance to either 'keep' or 'sell' every player.

The players who had more than 50 per cent voting to sell were: Eric Bailly, Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata, Phil Jones, Ashley Young, Alexis Sanchez, Matteo Darmian and Marcos Rojo.

A 55 per cent share of United fans wanted to keep hold off Herrera, while nearly 53 per cent would like Romelu Lukaku to remain at the club amid rumours that he may be sold.

Rojo received the fewest amount of votes of fans wanting him to stay (6.4 per cent), while Darmian was the second lowest with 7.3 per cent. Antonio Valencia wasn't included in the options as he is widely expected to leave, while Mata will leave on a free if he doesn't agree a contract extension.

In terms of players United fans desperately want to remain at the club, Luke Shaw was top with a whopping 97 per cent wanting the England left-back to remain at Old Trafford.

Marcus Rashford was predictably high up the list, followed by fan favourites Victor Lindelof, Diogo Dalot and Scott McTominay.

There was patience for last summer's new signing Fred, plus the out of form duo of Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial.

Here are the results of the MEN's poll:

Manchester United are a mess and the biggest problem is obvious
