Ireland will hit another milestone in its reopening plan next week as restaurants, bars and cafés will all be permitted to provide outdoor dining.

Monday, June 7 is the long-awaited day people across the country have been looking forward to since last year and will see many of our much-loved services reopen.

Here is everything that will be changing on June 7:

1. Restaurants, bars, cafes

Outdoor service can resume in restaurants, bars and cafes for groups of up to six people per table. Children under 13 years of age are not included in this. A maximum of 15 will be allowed

per table (six adults and nine children).

2. Visitors to home

From June 7, you can have visitors from one other household to your home.

3. Outdoor events

Organised outdoor events can have up to 100 people in attendance and 200 people in venues with a capacity of 5,000 or more.

4. Sports

A long-awaited return of outdoor matches will be welcomed with open arms from all sports lovers.

5. Weddings

The maximum number of people allowed to attend wedding receptions will be raised from six guests to 25.

What comes next?

An exciting few months are ahead as Ireland continues to reopen, with more restrictions due to ease on July 5.

From July 5, indoor services for pubs and restaurants are expected to resume, and more people will be allowed to visit your home.

Up to 50 guests will be allowed to attend wedding receptions, and organised indoor events can proceed with up to 50 people in pods of six.
