The eerie coincidence between James Holzhauer’s ‘Jeopardy’ loss and Weird Al’s ‘Jeopardy’ song

James Holzhauer’s legendary run on “Jeopardy” came to a stunning end on Monday, as he lost a close one to Emma Boettcher, a 27-year-old librarian from Chicago who wrote her Master’s thesis on the game show.

Many fans vented after the loss about wild conspiracy theories, saying maybe the game was rigged or that Holzhauer just wanted the run to end, which he hilariously denied.

But here is something about his loss that is very odd. Remember Weird Al’s classic “I lost on Jeopardy” song in which he sings a parody song about losing on the show?

Do you know when that song was released? Here’s the answer:

35 years ago today! Just a day after Holzhauer lost on Jeopardy! Sure, it would have been even better if he lost on June 4, but the odds of this happening have to be pretty darn crazy.

Holzhauer knows about the song, too, as he changed his profile pic to Weird Al:

I don’t know what all of this means, but let’s just sit back and enjoy such an odd coincidence and such a wonderful song:
