The easiest places to take your driving test in Bristol

Bristol candidates have use of three driving test centres – and the one you choose could have an impact on your result, stats suggest.

The chance of passing at the Avonmouth centre on Merebank Road is 11.3 per cent higher than at the Brislington facility on Flowers Hill.

That is according to the most recent Driver and Vehicle Standards (DVSA) data, which covers the period from April to September 2019.

Some 53.1 per cent of the 4,186 Avonmouth candidates passed, compared to 41.8 per cent of the 3,165 in Brislington.

Those facing the test at the Kingswood centre on Station Road were almost as successful as Avonmouth’s candidates, with 52.5 per cent of the 2,990 passing.

The success rate was higher for males than females at all three Bristol centres, with the biggest difference at Brislington – an 8.8 per cent gap.

Candidates in Bristol appear to have a much easier ride than those in Erith, London, where only 31.6 per cent of people pass.

And the stats say the easiest place to take your test is Dorchester, which has a 62.4 per cent success rate.
