The easiest golf courses on the PGA Tour, 2018-19 season

Shotlink is a treasure trove of data that generates a seemingly never-ending stream of numbers.

These numbers tell us a lot of the PGA Tour. They often confirm some of our thoughts but they can also surprise.

Taking a look at the Shotlink data, we can see just how the pros scored at all 49 events on the 2018-19 PGA Tour season.

Here’s a look at the easiest golf courses. The first 19 on the list all produced an average score of more than 1 stroke under par. The complete list shows all 49 courses used on Tour during the 2018-19 season.

1. La Quinta CC

Rank: 1. Yardage: 7,060 yards. Par: 72. Average score to par: -3.282.

Tournament: Desert Classic.

Notable: The only course on Tour where the pros averaged better than 3-under par.

2. Nicklaus Tournament Course

Rank: 2. Yardage: 7,159 yards. Par: 72. Average score to par: -2.942.

Tournament: Desert Classic

Notable: Despite its rank, only five courses gave up more eagles than the Nicklaus course (15).

3. TPC Kuala Lumpur

Notable: Golfers made 114 eagles at Keen Trace, 51 more than the next course in that category (TPC Sawgrass).

Notable: There were just 21 double bogeys and 1 in the ‘other’ category (triple bogey or worse) during the 2019 tournament.

6. Plantation Course at Kapalua

7. Medinah CC (No. 3)

Notable: Only two courses gave up more birdies than the 1,895 at Detroit.
