The early Swansea City vs Cardiff City team news and the fans' choices for South Wales derby

Joe Rodon is "touch an go" to be fit for Swansea City's huge South Wales derby clash with Cardiff City today.

The Wales international took a knock to the ankle and will be assessed ahead of the visit of Neil Warnock's side.

It comes after the central defender was withdrawn in the second half of Swansea's 1-1 draw with Barnsley at Oakwell after sustaining a separate ankle problem.

He was deemed fit to feature in midweek, with Rodon playing the full 90 minutes of the 3-0 defeat to Brentford at the Liberty Stadium on Tuesday night.

Aldo Kalulu is the only confirmed absentee for Swansea, with the versatile attacker still sidelined with the ankle injury he suffered in August.

As for the visitors, they head into the game having not registered a win on the road all season – and what Warnock would give for that statistic to change after today's match.

But he will have to do it without Junior Hoilett, the winger having not recovered from hamstring injury he sustained against Millwall on Tuesday night.

And it now appears Sol Bamba will definitely miss the derby clash. Warnock said the only way the Ivorian would force his way into the starting lineup if something were to happen to one of Aden Flint or Sean Morrison and it seems as though that has not happened.

Isaac Vassell is another long-term absentee who again will miss today's clash.

On a more positive note, however, Cardiff's Leandro Bacuna is back in the fray having recovered from the illness which ruled him out of the trip to Millwall this week.

Kick-off at the Liberty Stadium is at 12pm.

Predicted Swansea lineup: Woodman; Roberts, van der Hoorn, Rodon, Bidwell; Fulton, Grimes (C); Ayew, Celina, Routledge; Borja.

Predicted Cardiff lineup: Etheridge; Peltier, Morrison (C), Flint, Bennett; Pack, Ralls; Whyte, Paterson, Murphy; Ward.
