The early signs that Liverpool are in tune with Jurgen Klopp's tactical demands

Bradford City manager Gary Bowyer has revealed how Liverpool left him "shattered" at the weekend - and prompted him to set his players homework.

Bowyer's side were beaten 3-1 by the Reds on Sunday as Jurgen Klopp's side continued their pre-season preparations with a second successive victory.

A James Vaughan own goal, James Milner's penalty and Rhian Brewster's third goal in two games put Liverpool ahead at the break as their first-half team dominated.

Bradford notched a consolation through an Eoin Doyle penalty 10 minutes from time in front of a capacity 24,343 crowd for a game played in aid of the Darby Rimmer Foundation.

And Bowyer was impressed by the performance of the European champions which represented a real learning curve for his squad.

“The game was an interesting one for ourselves," said the Bradford boss.

“Liverpool had a hell of a lot of the ball. That made it a great game for our defensive organisation.

“I was shattered after watching that. I thought Liverpool must have put both teams on in the first half and they had not told us.

“No, seriously the amount of learning these lads will have taken out of the day is huge.

“In fact, I have set them a challenge. I have given them today off and over the next 24 hours they have to text me with what they have learnt.

“I will be really interested about what they have to say.”
