The earliest date Celtic and Rangers fixtures for next season can be announced

The earliest date Celtic and Rangers could find out their Premieship fixtures for next season is June 18.

The SPFL cannot release their 2020/21 calendar until all the European and international dates for this current term, and next season, are finalised.

Rangers are expected to play the second leg of their Europa League last 16 tie against Bayer Leverkusen on August 6, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

UEFA will meet on June 17 for a two-day summit where the dates for the Champions League, Europa League and postponed Euro 2020 should all be settled.

This means that the earliest date the Scottish football calendar can be set in stone is June 18.

French FA president Noel Le Graet said: "UEFA will now take two days to get through this meeting.

"I believe all the international calendars, the league fixture rounds and the dates of the Champions League and Europa League will be official on the afternoon of June 18.

"Each national association and league can then publish their calendars after that.

"We have already prepared ours, but there is nothing we can do officially until UEFA confirm the dates and that's the same with every country in Europe."
