The Dutch striker who has just cropped up on Swansea City's radar who is looking for 'a new adventure'

Swansea City have reportedly identified a potential replacement for Joel Piroe.

Reports in the Netherlands claim the Swans could now move for Roda JC top scorer Dylan Vente, with the striker seemingly keen on making the move to English football.

After leaving Feyenoord, Vente has a record not too dissimilar to Piroe, netting 46 goals in the last two season for the Dutch second tier outfit.

Like Piroe, it's a record that's clearly earned him admirers.

Major League Soccer side New York Red Bulls were allegedly interested last year, but failed to firm up their interest with a concrete bid. Now, a move to the Championship appears to be on the agenda.

Vente only signed a one-year extension back in March, but is now tipped for a possible exit, with Dutch outlet SoccerNews.nl going so far as to claim the 24-year-old is looking for a "new sporting adventure".

The same report claimed he was set to fly to England on Sunday, amid alleged interest from Swansea and Championship rivals Coventry City.

To add further fuel to the fires of speculation, Vente did not feature in Roda's recent friendly with Groene Ster and it remains to be seen whether he will go to the club's training camp in Arnhem next week.

Swansea, meanwhile, have another behind-closed-doors friendly on Tuesday, with Danish giants Brondby the visitors to Fairwood.

After netting against Haverfordwest County on Saturday, there's every chance Piroe could be involved again, although he is clearly a wanted man.

The Dutchman has netted more than 40 goals in two seasons for the Swans, but with one year left on his current deal, his exit looks almost certain.

His departure could well shape the rest of the summer and Michael Duff's plans for the upcoming season, with Atalanta and Leicester City among those taking a keen interest.

Losing Piroe would clearly be a blow, but few would really be surprised given such imperious form over the last two campaigns.

For many, it's now a question of just how much money the club can recoup for his signature, and how that cash can be reinvested into the team.
