The Duke of Wellington statue has been spotted dressed up as Lewis Capaldi

If you needed more evidence that Glasgow is Lewis Capaldi mad, then we’ve got it for you and it's on brand.

As if selling out two nights at the Hydro as well as his original O2 Academy dates wasn’t enough proof that the city loves Lewis, someone has decided to give the iconic Duke of Wellington statue a makeover.

One Twitter user this morning spotted the Glasgow statue wearing his usual traffic cone and a mask of Lewis Capaldi’s face poking out underneath, even tagging the tweet with #DukeofCapaldi.

As usual, the mask is wearing the sunglasses you'll often see the singer wearing for his shareable Instagram stories and viral tweets.

Capaldi is naturally on everyone’s lips at the moment, with his debut album set to be released tomorrow (May 17).

The singer responded to the photos being shared, tweeting to say just how much he loves the city.

This isn’t the only make-over the Duke has had recently, after someone turned him into a robot last month .

All we can say, though, is it suits you Lewis. Perhaps this is the perfect costume for the arena tour in 2020?
