The duel that convinced ex-Chelsea star just how good Palace ace Aaron Wan-Bissaka is

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has enjoyed an incredible rise at Crystal Palace in recent times.

Since making his professional debut in February 2018 against Tottenham, the Palace academy graduate has gone from strength to strength, establishing himself as the club's first choice right-back, making 36 appearances in all competitions so far this season.

His form has led to speculation over his future, with Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund among the clubs said to be interested in signing the 21-year-old.

Many fans and pundits alike have also expressed their disbelief that the Palace defender was not included in the PFA team of the year, or nominated on the shortlist for the PFA young player of the year award.

But Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer and former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink have both said they would have included Wan-Bissaka in their respective teams of the season, with both also saying that in their opinion, he should win the young player of the year award.

And Hasselbaink says that how Wan-Bissaka has fared against one player in particular has convinced him of just how good the Palace youngster is.

“He has come out of nowhere and then I judge him when he played against [Eden] Hazard, and he stood his own, that says a lot," Hasselbaink said, speaking on BBC programme the Premier League Show.
