First you catch the alligator.
Then you get the fame.
Then you get the girlfriend.
Then you get the bobblehead.
Then you get ... the coloring book?
Frank Robb — the big-bearded Florida dude who caught the alligator in Humboldt Park this summer — is telling his story in a coloring book.
“It was my idea to tell the story in a fun way for kids that focused on conservation,” Robb said.
Robb is scheduled to sign copies of the coloring book from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Museum of Broadcast Communications, 360 N. State St.
A professional gator hunter by trade, Robb lives in Florida but has been spending an increasing amount of time in Chicago since he began dating a local.
“I think I’m wearing every piece of clothing I own right now,” Robb, in town for a fundraiser for Chicago Animal Care and Control, told the Sun-Times Friday. “I think this is the coldest I’ve ever been.
Robb, who’s previous experience in Chicago has been during warm weather, ended the phone call in order to duck inside somewhere downtown to warm up his fingers.
The book is a for-profit venture, but a portion of the proceeds will be donated to first responders and the Crocodile Specialist Group, a conservation group, he said.
