The Duchess of Cambridge channels French girl chic for virtual interview about the NHS, coronavirus and mental health

The Duchess of Cambridge oozed French sophistication this morning, donning Breton stripes for a video interview with the BBC.

The jumper she wore for the candid chat is an old favourite of hers and is by Joostricot, a brand which was established by street style star and photographer Natalie Joos in 2010. While it's no longer for sale, Ganni has a similar one available to buy now (£112, shop it here.)

The Duchess has been seen in the cashmere striped jumper a handful of times, and last wore it in public last summer for the launch of the King's Cup Regatta.

This isn't the first virtual appearance Kate has made recently. The mother-of-three gave the public a glimpse into her first-ever public Zoom call just a few weeks ago, for which she opted to wear a mustard yellow Zara jumper.

The Cambridges are currently in lockdown with their children at their home in Norfolk. They used the interview this morning to discuss how they have been explaining the coronavirus pandemic to their three children in an ‘age-appropriate way’.

During the candid chat, the Duchess noted that the family had experienced ‘ups and downs’ during lockdown ‘like lots of families’, adding that it can get ‘a bit hectic’ when trying to do video phone calls with a two-year-old son.

The couple also used the opportunity to praise the work of the NHS. Kate said: "I think what we're seeing now is the NHS and the frontline workers are doing the most extraordinary job and that's really come to the forefront in the last few weeks. They do an extraordinary job, it goes unrecognised daily and now I think all of us as a nation can really see how hard they work and how vital their work is."
