The Dublin Bay Prawn Festival is coming back to Howth and we seafood everywhere

Howth’s annual Dublin Bay Prawn Festival returns this month - and its a must-sea for fish lovers.

The celebration of Irish seafood takes place in the beautiful north county Dublin fishing village from Friday 17 to Sunday 19 May.

Now in its ninth year, the event has grown into one of the largest festivals in Ireland and it's a fab day out for foodies and families alike.

Howth’s top restaurants, bars and cafés will host stands at the Harbour Festival Food Village serving the fresh, delicious seafood, cooked every way imaginable, including a selection of special Dublin Bay Prawn dishes.


As well as that there'll be craft beer, wine tastings, live cooking demos and live music street entertainment.

The festive atmosphere will continue into the evening as Howth Yacht Club hosts live music and food while bars and restaurants around the village offer a special festive menu and entertainment.

There'll also be plenty of walks, talks and seaside antics in the Howth Village Marquee with powerboating and watersports demonstrations along the pier and a vintage funfair.

The Coast Guard and RNLI will also be on hand to talk about the important work they do.

Cllr Anthony Lavin, Mayor of Fingal County Council said: "We are delighted to be part of this event, it is an excellent opportunity to showcase Howth and all that it has to offer in terms of food, stunning landscape, culture and heritage."
