The driver who totalled this yellow car has been up in court

A drug driver who wrecked a car and damaged a garden wall and a telegraph pole has been banned from driving.

Emergency services were called to the scene of a one-car road collision in Ceredigion on March 24.

The yellow car was lying on its roof in the middle of the A482 between the villages of Felinfach and Temple Bar, around five miles north of Lampeter.

The driver of the car, 28-year-old Jodie Mason Varney, was arrested following the crash, which resulted in damage being caused to a wall at the side of the road and a BT telegraph pole.

Varney, of Bro Henllys, Felinfach, Ceredigion, appeared at Aberystwyth Justice Centre last Wednesday (August 14).

She was charged with aggravated vehicle taking, drug driving, failing to stop following an accident, using a motor vehicle without insurance and possession of cannabis.

She pleaded guilty to all charges.

She was handed a community order which states she must undertake rehabilitation activity and carry out 150 hours of unpaid work.

She was also banned from driving for a year and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £85.
