The dreamiest dresses from Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week SS19

It's a highlight in any fashion fan's diary: Haute Couture Fashion Week.

Filled with sartorial spectacle, exquisite craftmanship and sky high prices, the four day event showcases the best of luxury designers, from Dior, Givenchy and Chanel to Giambattista Valli.

For spring/summer 2019 the exclusive event has served up even more breaktaking dresses than usual. Although frothy creations are always a firm favourite on the couture catwalks, billowing tulle gowns were bigger than ever, not only seen at Giambattista Valli but also at Zuhair Murad, Viktor & Rolf, Balmain and Ralph & Russo.

Heavy adornments also proved popular, no more so than at Schiaparelli which had everything from frills and feathers to eye-catching rainbow sequins.

From powder pink at Chanel to every princess-perfect shade possible at Valli, lilac at Zuhair Murad and electric shades at Valentino - a variation of pink hues reigned supreme on the couture catwalks.

For those who favour designs a little more understated, but no less spectacular, Dior showased the chicest circus we've ever seen, complete with ethereal nude toned gowns, which fast became a signature of Maria Grazia Chiuri's when she became artistic director in 2016.
