The Downs Festival 2019 weather forecast: Will Bristol event be a washout?

Forecasters predict a mixed weekend of weather at this year's Downs Festival and Madness on the Downs event.

Acts including Lauryn Hill, Grace Jones, IDLES and Madness will perform at Clifton and Durdham Downs on the weekend of Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, September 1.

Doors will open at 1pm on Saturday and the music will finish at 10.30pm that night.

On Saturday, there are expected to be highs of 19 degrees and cloudy weather until 7pm. Some sunshine is likely at the end of the evening.

Ska punk legends Madness are set to open their set on Sunday at 1pm.

That day, the Met Office predicts sunshine from 7am until 1pm and clouds with sunny spells from 1pm until 4pm.

From 4pm until the end of the evening, light showers are possible, though this could be coupled with sunshine.

Met Office forecasters expect the chance of precipitation to be 30 per cent during each hour from 4pm onwards.

Temperatures are set to peak at 18C, though the 'feels like' temperature is predicted to hit highs of just 10C.
