The Dolphins’ awful 2-point conversion attempt is proof that they’re tanking

It’s been widely assumed that the Miami Dolphins are tanking. They’ve unloaded talent to stockpile picks. They’re not competitive, and every player on the team knows it.

But on Sunday, they did actually have an opportunity to win an NFL football game. The Dolphins instead did what they do best: lose.

After benching Josh Rosen in another lackluster showing, the Dolphins were able to score 13-unanswered points in the fourth quarter. With an opportunity to tie the game with a PAT, Miami coach Brian Flores opted to go for two and the win.

The decision in itself was fine. The play call, however, was a joke.

They went with a screen to Kenyan Drake that wasn’t going to work had Drake even caught the ball. The Redskins saw it coming, had three defenders in the area and Drake didn’t make a serious attempt to catch the ball or run the play.

If that effort doesn’t scream “TANKING,” nothing does. The Dolphins conceded the loss with that play call.

The failed attempt dropped Miami to 0-5 on the season.
