The Division Resurgence release date countdown

The latest mobile entry in Ubisoft’s The Division franchise, The Division Resurgence, finally has a global release date, alongside a slew of new story and gameplay details to go along with it.

First announced in 2022, The Division Resurgence is a full-blown, looter-shooter sequel set in Manhattan, taking place parallel to the events of the first game. Although a free-to-play mobile title, it plays quite like its PC/console counterparts, full of open world activities to pursue, side missions to complete, and a dedicated Dark Zone to explore for some PvEvP mayhem.

If you’re a The Division fan, or simply a mobile gamer curious to try this shiny new looter-shooter, you’re in the right place. In this guide, we reveal everything you need to know about The Division Resurgence, including its release date, pre-registration rewards, key story, and gameplay details.

It’s not yet clear what those rewards are, but you can expect cosmetic items such as weapon skins and outfits.

What to expect from The Division Resurgence?

As mentioned above, The Division Resurgence isn’t a mere mobile port of The Division 1 & 2, nor a title stitched together with features pulled from those games. It’s a full-blown sequel, with a dedicated storyline and gameplay features that you would expect from a traditional PC/console The Division game.

It’s also unlike The Division Heartlands, the cancelled free-to-play PC/console title, which was supposed to be an extraction-shooter inspired by the Dark Zone mode of the original titles.

Unlike The Division 1 & 2, The Division Resurgence’s PvE campaign is centered around the first wave of SHD agents, who were the first to be deployed during the early days of the Green Poison outbreak. It’s an interesting premise, especially since most of the first-wave agents, including the deadliest of the lot, Aaron Keener, ended up going rogue.

While roaming the open world streets of Manhattan, expect to encounter enemies of a brand new faction, the Freemen, the tanks of which carry chainsaws and sawblade-like melee weapons. Rikers, another prominent enemy faction from The Division 1/2, makes a return in The Division Resurgence.

For the first time in the The Division franchise, Resurgence introduces a voiced protagonist. As evident in the release date trailer, this is a canonical, story-centric title, and you can expect to see a few familiar faces, including Faye Lau, the former second-wave agent before she turned her back on the Division and became a rogue agent.

The gameplay boils down to a traditional cover-based shooter experience with a focus on loot and buildcrafting.  Expect to grind plenty of exotic weapons and gear. As for the open world, there will be plenty of familiar activities to farm, such as supply runs, safe house takeovers, hostage rescue missions, and arms deal disruptions, just to name a few.

That’s everything you need to know about The Division Resurgence. As of this writing, Ubisoft has not released the mobile requirements for the game. We will update this article when more info is available, so don’t forget to check back before launch.
