The distance being travelled by Chelsea this summer - and how it compares to Man United & Spurs

Chelsea pre-season tour will see them travel as far as nine Premier League clubs combined this summer.

The Blues' pre-season schedule will see them play friendlies in Japan and Austria before returning to London.

Travelling in a round trip from each destination works out at 12,462 miles worth of travel as the crow flies.

That’s the sixth longest distances of any Premier League club and more than eight other clubs combined.

If you add up the pre-season journeys of Watford (30 miles), Sheffield United (197 miles), Bournemouth (241 miles), Burnley (285 miles), Norwich City (626 miles), Leicester City (687 miles), Brighton (1,667 miles), Crystal Palace (1,285 miles) and Aston Villa (7,816 miles) it comes to 12,834 miles.

Six of those clubs are having a stay-cation this summer and only touring domestically - Leicester, Norwich, Burnley, Bournemouth, Sheffield United and Watford.

Manchester United will be travelling further than any other club.

Their pre-season tour will see them travel a massive 19,845 miles, playing in five countries on three continents over just 21 days.

Tottenham have the next longest journey (14,815 miles) followed by Manchester City (13,724 miles),  West Ham (13,195 miles), Wolves (12,517 miles), Chelsea (12,462 miles) and Newcastle (12,358 miles).
