The disappointing Swansea City player ratings as substitute shines but attackers struggle at Middlesbrough

FREDDIE WOODMAN 6

Helpless with the opener but produced a fine save to keep out Sam Morsy's effort. Good save from Johnson but couldn't keep out the second goal. A few nervy moments in there too.

BEN CABANGO 6

Solid in the opening half, although a tad wasteful in possession. Replaced as Swansea went for broke for the second half.

RYAN BENNETT 6

Decent enough at the back in fairness. Didn't do too much wrong.

MARC GUEHI 6

Unlucky with Boro's first goal but was otherwise solid. Made his fair share of interceptions and tackles. Vital block on his own line in the second half.

CONNOR ROBERTS 6

Carried on from his man-of-the-match display against Nottingham Forest. Always a threat on the right flank and defended well.

KOREY SMITH 5

Swansea needed more from the central midfielder as they went back to two in the middle. Some decent interventions but nothing going forward.

JAY FULTON 5

Won plenty of tackles, but often fell foul of the referee. Booked in the first half and was a tad sloppy in possession at times. Hooked at the break.

RYAN MANNING 5

Wasn't quite on the same page as others on the left flank. Got caught out a few times too, which wasn't entirely his fault.

Connor Roberts produced another decent performance on Teeside (PA)

KASEY PALMER 6

Some exciting flashes from the No.10, although the final moment was just lacking. Subbed late on.

ANDRE AYEW 5

Nowhere near his best, but could have had a penalty in the first half. Boro will be delighted to have kept him so quiet.

JAMAL LOWE 4

Unable to fire home in the first half after a slick move on the right and was unable to offer much else. Subbed.

Subs

Viktor Gyokeres (for Cabango) - Spurned a glorious chance shortly after coming on. Decent hold up play. 6

Wayne Routledge (for Lowe) - Some decent flashes but not really enough. 6

Matt Grimes (for Fulton) - Some decent moments as Swansea pushed, but balls into the box needed to be better. 6

Yan Dhanda (for Palmer) - Looked to make things happen and got his rewards with the goal. 7 Star Man

Jordon Garrick (for Smith) - Thought he'd equalised but was offside. N/A
