The disappointing Cardiff City player ratings as shoddy defending proves costly against Fulham

Alex Smithies 6

Made an outstanding save in the first half when Josh Onomah hammered a half volley from close range. Not to blame for either goal, really.

Leandro Bacuna 5

Very useful in attack and actually did pretty well in defence, for the most part. Neeskens Kebano just got the better of him a couple of times after the break.

Sean Morrison 5

Gave away the free-kick that led to Fulham's second of the evening. Didn't boast his usual air of confidence and calmness.

Curtis Nelson 4

Perhaps could have done more to keep the onrushing Josh Onomah out for the Fulham goal, was beaten when the forward cut against the grain in the box.

Joe Bennett 5

Linked nicely with Junior Hoilett on City's left flank early on. But Anthony Knockaert had a lot of joy on the second half and Bennett's distribution wasn't as crisp as normal.

Marlon Pack 4

Was certainly to blame for Josh Onomah's goal. He was turned far too easily on the edge of the box. Was dispossessed in a dangerous area which almost led to Fulham's second, too.

Joe Ralls 5

Proved to be a little terrier in the middle of the park, snapping at the heels and pressing well. But really failed to impart anything on the City attack.

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing 4

Looked dangerous initially, but Fulham were wary of his threats and did well to mark him. Faded as the game wore on.

Lee Tomlin 5

A couple of magical touches once again to fashion chances out of nothing. But was starved of the ball in the second half and grew frustrated.

Junior Hoilett 6

Looked really bright early on and was the main instigator in many of City's early attacks. Struggled after the break, like many of his team-mates.

Robert Glatzel 5

Looked the most likely for the Bluebirds for most of the match. Got himself in excellent positions but just couldn't make it count. Anonymous second half, though.

SUBS

Danny Ward (on for Glatzel 70) 5

Fed off scraps, really, when Cardiff tried to lump the ball up to him late on. That's not really his game.

Josh Murphy (on for Mendez-Laing 70) 5

Don't really remember him doing a lot to impact the game after his introduction.

Will Vaulks (on for Hoilett 70) 5

A couple of useful throw-ins but not a lot else to write home about apart from that.
