Dame Shirley Bassey and Cindy Crawford “had the hots” for Mr Motivator in the 90s, the lycra-suited fitness instructor claims.
The exercise guru – real name Derrick Evans – reveals: “Cindy Crawford kinda had the hots for me and I don’t blame her. And Dame Shirley Bassey REALLY had the hots for me. In a big way.
“Did she go for me?” he laughs. “In a big way. She offered to send a helicopter to take me everywhere. She was naughty... haha. It was good clean fun.”
The pair worked out together for a flirty fitness segment on GMTV in the mid-90s – during which they danced a tango, and Dame Shirley teased: “I need his
body.” Flustered, he responded: “Everything can be arranged.”
Host Anthea Turner commented on how “frisky” the pair were, as Mr Motivator asked “Shirl” to lie on her back to show off her sit-ups. “Only if you call me Shirley,” she reprimanded, coyly.
Dame Shirley then launched into her hit Crazy as she performed the exercise, while blowing kisses at him.
Derrick, 67, wrote in his autobiography that she invited him to a dinner party, where he found himself sitting beside her, and claims she serenaded him with a “love song”.
Liz Brewer, a close pal of Dame Shirley’s, laughed off his claims yesterday, saying: “I spoke to Dame Shirley and she didn’t have the hots for him – but she wishes him well. If anyone had the hots for him, it was me.”
